ALEXANDER SIMS

"Alexander was such an engaged and useful member of the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award as a guest judge that he was invited to stay on the panel full-time. Although he sometimes keeps it well hidden, Alexander also has a very sharp, dry sense of humour, which is very welcome on cold and wet days at Silverstone in October!"

Career

Highly regarded on and off the track, Alexander has made a name for himself as an extremely adaptable and technically-minded racing driver, adept to the challenges of both single-seater and GT racing. Having won the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award in 2008, Sims has competed in Formula 3, GP3, LMP2 and GT programmes across Europe and in the USA. He is now contesting in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship with BMW i Andretti Motorsport, which supports his genuine interest in sustainability and electric mobility.

Intelligent and modest, Sims has been a fine spokesperson for McLaren and BMW during his career, as well as a supportive mentor for young drivers coming up through the ranks of the British Racing Drivers' Club SuperStars programme.
