Sims, McLaughlin and Catsburg fight for podium at Suzuka 1000km

SUZUKA, Japan. (September 13, 2026) – Sims, McLaughlin and Catsburg narrowly miss out on podium at Suzuka 1000km with Johor Racing.

JMR’s pro team of ScoW McLaughlin, Nicky Catsburg and Alexander Sims fought all day to replicate their 2025 podium performance, narrowly finishing oﬀ the rostrum in P4.

Impressive early pace and clean pit-stops saw the #2 JMR CorveWe quickly improve from its P8 qualifying position and roar into the top three. The trio stayed in the hunt and established themselves as front-runners all day, but a class and overall podium result slid from their grasp during the final hour of darkness.

The 38-year-old Corvette Racing driver has been involved in motorsport since he was 10 years old, initially racing karts before moving on to single seater, GT and Endurance racing and most recently four seasons in the all-electric FIA Formula E World Championship.
